What is Dead Road Survivors?

A zombie survival driving game for phones. You drive an armored car through an endless, zombie-overrun countryside while the turret on the roof aims and fires on its own. Stop to loot houses on foot in first person, rescue survivors, beat the bosses, then spend your Scrap in the garage and go again.

When does it come out?

Soon. The game is in final testing on iPhone and is being prepared for the App Store and Google Play. The download buttons on this site go live on launch day.

Which platforms is it on?

iPhone and iPad through the App Store, and Android through Google Play. The iPhone version comes first.

Is it free to play?

Dead Road Survivors is free to download, with optional in-app purchases of Road Coins. Road Coins buy cosmetics such as car skins, paint sets, gun skins and effects, and can be swapped for Scrap. Every car, gun and upgrade is opened by playing and bought with Scrap you earn on the road.

Is it pay to win?

Your Player Level opens new cars and guns, and Scrap earned on the road buys them. Road Coins are for looks and convenience, and you also earn free Road Coins from stage clears, Player Level milestones, achievements and events.

Can I play with a friend?

Yes. Two players can play together, each in their own car, on the same Wi-Fi with a 4-digit code or online from anywhere with a 6-letter code. Everything works in co-op, including going on foot, run goals, races and the events, and you can revive a downed friend.

Do I have to aim?

Not in the car. You steer and the roof gun, rocket pod, tail gun and survivor gunners aim on their own, so driving well is what keeps you alive. On foot you look and aim in first person with gentle aim assist, and the rifle fires on its own when the crosshair is on a zombie.

What game modes are there?

A five-stage campaign that ends at Hell Road, endless Survival, a checkpoint Race, the Road Trip to Safe Haven, and two events: Base Defense and the World Boss, The Colossus, whose health is shared by every player.

How does progression work?

There are no level-up cards in a run. You go in with the build you prepared, like a mission. Runs give Player XP and Scrap: your Player Level opens new gear (NITRO at 3, Shotgun at 5, Dune Buggy at 10, Flamethrower at 15, Tesla Coil at 20, War Truck at 25, Railgun at 30, Laser at 35) and Scrap buys it and upgrades it.

Will my progress be saved?

Yes. The game signs you in as a guest and keeps your progress in the cloud, so it survives a reinstall. Link Sign in with Apple or Game Center on the PROFILE card to carry it to a new phone.

Do I need an internet connection?

You can play solo without one. Online co-op, the store, leaderboards and the World Boss need a connection; a World Boss fight or a run played offline is kept on the phone and sent when you're back online.

How do I delete my account?

Tap your portrait on the home screen to open PROFILE and tap DELETE ACCOUNT twice. That removes the account and everything saved with it. See the Delete account page for other ways to ask.
